Maintenance dredging is essential to navigation safety at the Port of Yangon, where channels are subject to continual siltation. The areas requiring priority attention are the Outer Bar and Inner Bar Channels near Monkey Point, at the entrance to the Yangon Port Channel.
Diamond Palace Industries Co., Ltd. submitted its Expression of Interest on 12 October 2016. Following approval, the Group submitted a full proposal for the Yangon River Channel Improvement Project in January 2017, in line with the Myanma Port Authority’s request for proposal.

Since October 2017, the Group has operated a community-group microfinance programme in Tavoy, Tanintharyi Region, extending small loans to individuals, particularly women and micro-entrepreneurs, to meet essential needs or to start and expand a business.
Modest, well-structured credit widens horizons: with it, producers of local goods, fruit, vegetables, handicrafts, can grow their enterprises and their incomes, strengthening living standards across rural communities.
