Three decades of national development
Since the mid-1990s, Diamond Palace Group has delivered major national projects across Myanmar, and earned the confidence of governments across five nations.
When a project must carry a nation forward, Myanmar’s institutions have turned to Diamond Palace, and, for three decades, the Group has delivered.
Company background
Since its inception in the mid-1990s, Diamond Palace Group has delivered major national development projects across Myanmar. The Group’s work began with the Bawkyo–Lashio Union Highway in Mandalay, a direct link road to Kyegaung, China, in 1996. It has since been entrusted with national projects throughout the country.
Rapid growth prompted Diamond Palace to diversify both locally and regionally. From infrastructure and IT solutions to systems integration and human-resource services, the Group has established a presence across Southeast Asia.
Diamond Palace Co., Ltd. has been a registered Limited Liability Company under the Myanmar Companies Act since the 1994–95 fiscal year, established in Yangon. Within a few years it reformed into a Group of Companies, each subsidiary built around a specialist discipline.

U Thein Than
“From a single company in Yangon to a group trusted by governments across the region, one conviction has never changed, that a nation is built by those willing to reach further.”
Mr. Thein Than is the Owner and Chairman of Diamond Palace Group of Companies. The Group started with the Diamond Palace Co. Ltd in 1994–95 with the operation based in Yangon. The growth of the business prompted the establishment of Diamond Palace Travel and Tour Co. Ltd in 1997–98.
Since then, the Group has grown from its core business of general services into specialization of various industries such as security, energy, and hospitality via successive formation of Diamond Palace Hotels Co. Ltd, Diamond Palace Industries Co. Ltd, Diamond Palace Services Co. Ltd, and Diamond Palace Trading Co. Ltd, with a total paid up capital of USD 5.1 million.
The Group has expanded across the region through partnerships and government endorsement. In Thailand, Diamond Palace Tour and Services was established; in Singapore, Diamond Palace Tour and Services Pte Ltd was created to serve the growing Singapore–Myanmar corridor; and in Hong Kong, the Group established Kind Properties Ltd to enter the infrastructure development market. Diamond Palace continues to explore opportunities in Taiwan and Malaysia, having invested approximately USD 3.3 million in these markets.
